Replacing The Home Folder in Finder (OS X)

The Home folder is missing from Finder in OS X. Replacing it requires three steps.

  1. Launch Finder and press Command + Shift + H. This will show the contents of your Home folder.
  2. Press Command + UpArrow. This key combination moves up one level in the folder hierarchy. Hence, you will see the Users folder that houses the Home folder.
  3. Drag your Home folder to the sidebar. VoilĂ ! It will now list this very important location under Favorites.

To access Home directly from the dock, simply right-click the entry in the sidebar and select Add to Dock.
